Did Matt Hunter really just film a POV edit with a glider plane? Find out for yourself in his latest Action Cam edit, Catch and Release.
The trails of the Whistler Bike Park have seen their fair share of screen time over the years, from segments in our past films to your next-door-neighbour's POV edit. So, when it came time to filming the bike park segment for unReal, we knew we had to do something different.
Every so often, an event happens in nature that is so profound, it belies the very foundation of reality. This is the stuff of legends and lore, a rare phenomenon that may only happen once in a lifetime. In order to witness such an event, we must suspend our judgement of what we think we know. We must let go, look to the sky, and believe.
For as long as I can remember, my answer to the following question has always remained consistent. “Where is the one place in the world you want to go but have not yet been?” My reply, “Bali.” The fascination I’ve had with this tiny Indonesian island originally stemmed from its reputation for warm water and surf-able waves, but it wasn’t until recently when I met a Balinese mountain biker in Whistler that I realized there’s another huge reason to go explore Bali.
On June 18th, 2015, the unReal world tour kicks off in Vancouver, BC. Tickets for the tour are ON SALE NOW! To purchase tickets, head on over to www.tetongravity.com/films/unreal/tour. You don't want to miss this!
Dusk is falling rapidly and I’m driving down a maze of gravel roads deep in the interior of BC with the fuel gage nearing empty. Stevie is injured and all I have to go on are some sketchy directions that an old timer gave us a ways back. We’re hoping that we can find the hospital before the truck runs out of gas.
Early last summer I had an unUsual email come across my inbox. It read something like this: “Hey Cam, we’re actually going to try to do that crazy glacier idea for unReal. We’ll be camping up there for 2 weeks and trying to find some rideable snow and ice. It will probably be a big challenge, are you into it...?”
Mind the Gap: The Making of unReal Episode 2. On June 25th, 2014, Tom van Steenbergen landed the biggest front flip in mountain bike history, but it almost didn’t happen.
Every single spot Ruben shared with us blew our minds. Whether dirt or concrete, there was no shortage of natural rideable transitions.
Could you imagine how awesome it would be if Brett Rheeder and BMX legend Ruben Alcantara rode bikes together in Malaga, Spain? Oh wait...
As a lead up to the Summer 2015 release of unReal, Anthill Films and Teton Gravity Research are giving viewers an exclusive behind the scenes look at the film in their new web series, Mind the Gap. The first episode in the eight part series takes us to Turtle Ranch in Dubois, Wyoming with Trek athletes Brett Rheeder, Tom van Steenbergen, and Cam McCaul.
How do Stevie Smith and Brendan Fairclough cover every possible angle of a trail? A remote control car, little green men, a rocket launcher, and cameras lining the trail from top to bottom are a good place to start.
We see you there. Stuck in the real world. Staring blankly at your computer screen. Hoping to find something, anything, to take you away.
Did Tom van Steenbergen stomp the biggest front flip in mountain bike history?
Cam McCaul is no stranger when it comes to piles of dirt, from having input on major courses like Red Bull Joyride to helping shape his local jump spot at Post Office.
For our latest Dream Capture piece--Cam McCaul's The Pile--we asked Cam a few questions about how piles of dirt have helped shape his career, and how it all started at the infamous Post Office jumps in Aptos. Check out the interview below and watch the teaser for his upcoming edit: The Pile.
Garbage cans, parking lots, fences, soccer fields, delivery trucks… To most people, there is only one purpose to these ordinary objects: to do what their names intend. But Brett Rheeder is not most people.
