CAN’T STOP, WON’T STOP, Anthill’s latest Shimano Originals short film, follows the incredible work of non-profit Richmond Cycling Corps (RCC) who are using bikes to connect with some of the most marginalized kids in Richmond Virginia’s East End.
There’s magic in realizing you can do something you didn’t think was possible. The Richmond Cycling Corps is using bikes to tap into this magic by helping kids to see that if they can get better at cycling, they can get better at anything they put their mind to.
We try, we fail, we try again and eventually, we succeed.
It’s a powerful idea that drew us to this story. Creating common ground through his passion for the sport, RCC Director Matt Khun is building a strong community of young cyclists, who are not only exploring their talents on the bike but also finding their way as aspiring engineers, professional racers and influential community members. On the other side, you can see how it’s also working its power on Matt. Between taking the kids to races, dentist appointments and court dates, his motivation and commitment to supporting the RCC kids shines through above all else and shows it only takes one person to make a big difference.
It’s not about what gear you have, what bike you ride, or even how well you ride it. What really counts is being outside, having fun with your crew and occasionally trying to huck yourself off jumps… no matter how big or small. That’s how Matt and the RCC are helping to build a better future, one sweet jump at a time.
